dear meds,
i never wanted not to trust you.
i never expected anything from you. you are just a mere tablet, and i do not know what to expect once i let you into my life. people say this, some say that, but i have no idea what to believe.
i never wanted you not to help me.
for 22 years of my life, i never asked for help. and if i did, it was only because external forces insisted that i should. so how can this mere tablet actually help me?
perhaps the frightening part is not that you might fail me (maybe), but that you might actually help me. what if one day, i begin to see you differently—not as a threat, but as help? what if accepting you means admitting that there are things i cannot carry alone?
i never doubted you. i simply did not know you well enough to trust you.
still, i gave you a chance.
and perhaps that was the scariest part.
i never wanted to lose you, not when you have become important to me.
i never wanted to need you.
i never wanted to be dependent.
i never.
never.
sincerely,
myself.
