Eldrew Yulo bannered his stunning entrance in the FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup with balance and strength to snag fourth in the qualifying rounds, earning himself a ticket to the finals of Baku Leg, Azerbaijan on March 6.
Eldrew, the younger brother of two-time olympic medalist Carlos Yulo, marked his senior-level debut after posting a score of 13.800 to seal the finals slot.
Meanwhile, Kazakstan’s Karimi Milad claimed first with 14.433 followed by AIN’s Sharamkou Yahor who secured 14.033 points, while Australia’s Moore Jesse settled for a 14.000 effort.
But the younger Yulo did not stop there.
The standout Yulo also qualified in the horizon bar finals, staging an input of 13.533, enough to land him in sixth place.
However, he failed to advance to the vault finals as he snared a 13.550 result, while also clinching 28th place with a 11.200 finish in the pommel horse event.
With this, Yulo is forging his own legacy, though not far from his brother, proving that he, as much as Carlos Yulo, can be a champion and qualify in the global stage.
