Staving off wobbles in the closing mark, Team Power ruled the 2026 PVL All-Star men's volleyball after slipping past Team Passion in a 25–18, 25–18, 21–25, 23–25 squeaker at the Candon City Arena, May 1.
The blue-shirted team bounced back in the fourth set after falling in the third, as they forged a 17–10 cushion behind Noel Kampton’s spikes and Billi Jean-Henri Anima and Lloyd Josafat’s blocks.
But Team Passion slowly came back, snatching two straight premier points to haul four markers before capping it off with Jayrack Dela Noche and Joshua Umandal’s hits for a 19–all tie.
Their tussle then went back and forth before Team Power took a crucial 24–23 edge, as Kampton fired the decisive cross-court strike to secure the narrow victory.
The standout Kampton clinched MVP honors and became Team Power’s lone double-digit scorer with 14 points built on 13 attacks to lead his team to the win.
"Siyempre special sa akin ['yung MVP award] kasi, in the past few seasons, wala akong award sa Spikers’ Turf or sa UAAP,” Kampton said in a post-game interview.”
“Pero importante naman, happy ako. But ito, siyempre special sa akin kasi first All-Star ko ng Spikers’ Turf. Sobrang happy," he added.
JM Ronquillo also added nine points, while Jude Garcia and Lloyd Josafat reeled off eight apiece.
Moreoever, Team Power ultimately took home the ₱100,00 prize after winning the exhibition.
