Team Falcons soared into the playoffs by snapping Team Liquid PH’s nine-game win streak as they rallied from a game down to post a stunning 2–1 comeback win in Week 6 of MPL PH Season 17 at the Victoria Sports Tower, May 2.
After a lopsided Game 1 loss, the Falcons recalibrated to neutralize TLPH’s star core, shattering the Cavalry’s perfect record and becoming the second team to march into the playoffs.
Team Liquid PH established immediate dominance in Game 1 after leveraging a lopsided 16–1 kill lead and suffocating map control to secure a swift victory in under 15 minutes.
Refusing to be buried by the onset route, Team Falcons adjusted with a resilient team-fight composition which allowed them to punish TLPH’s uncharacteristic overextensions.
This disciplined shift in strategy, led by SuperMarco’s precise positioning, successfully breached the Cavalry's defense to tie the series.
What began as a nip-and-tuck affair saw both titans exchange heavy blows, with Team Liquid PH holding a marginal gold lead through the early minutes of Game 3.
The momentum shifted quickly at the 10-minute mark near the Lord pit, where Owgwen’s perfectly timed Raging Sandstorm-Flicker combo on Khaleed dismantled TLPH's formation and neutralized their star core.
Capitalizing on this opening, SuperMarco’s Bane spearheaded a final, decisive push to shatter the crystal, ending the Cavalry’s 9–0 record and clinching the Falcons' playoff berth.
