Papaya’s foundation came from the wanting to innovate and develop a type of sanitary pad that is both comfortable for women and environmentally friendly. The brand believes that by redefining menstrual pads for women, a safe and comfortable experience can be made that will benefit them across the globe.
The brand started as an idea to develop menstrual pads that are leak-proof, sustainable and safe for the environment. When the developers saw that women still preferred menstrual pads over cups, an idea came to their mind that would soon re-define the development of menstrual products. By engineering an environmentally friendly pad from natural materials, the brand does not compromise material and quality from discomfort, trust and performance.
Beyond these are the functions of the pads itself, Through engineering, the developers were able to develop a biocoagulant that turns blood solid just like what happens in the process of a blood clotting. Through this, the pad keeps users completely dry, avoids leaks and increases comfort.
Battling microplastics
Due to the rise of microplastics production in our environment, the problem also affects sanitary pads. Regular pads may contain microplastics in the material used to make them, and as microplastics are almost impossible to get rid of – these small particles may enter the ovary through the reproductive system and cause hormonal issues, among many complications.
