NEWS | PBBM slams corrupt officials over stolen funds from gov’t projects; ensures transparency
In his 2025 State of the Nation Address (SONA) yesterday, July 28, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., reprimanded corrupt officials for stealing public funds intended for the government’s infrastructure projects.

PBBM noted the ineffectiveness of the flood control projects after it failed to solve the flooding problems in major parts of the country brought by Typhoons Crising, Dante, and Emong, citing ‘corruption’ as the sole reason.

To solve the problem, Marcos instructed the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to submit a list of all flood control projects in every region that was accomplished during the last three years. Afterwards, the Regional Project Monitoring Committee will inspect the implementation of the said project.

He also added that transparency, audit, and performance review will be conducted to ensure that public funds is spent accordingly to its purpose.
