Ipinag-utos ni Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon ang pagsuspinde at pagsampa ng kaso laban kay Baguio City District Engineer Rene Zarate dahil sa hindi nito pakikisama sa Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI).
Sa isang formal charge noong Setyembre 22, nagsampa ng reklamo si Sec. Dizon laban kay Zarate dahil sa gross neglect of duty, conduct prejudicial to best interest of service, gross insubordination, at paglabag sa Reasonable Office Rules and Regulations 2025.
“Any output to destroy, falsify or conceal them is a grave offense that carries both administrative and criminal liability,” babala ni ICI chair retired Justice Andes Reyes Jr.
Binigyan ng DPWH ng tatlong araw si Zarate upang sagutin ang formal charge habang nasa ilalim ng 30-day preventive suspension.
Saad ng ahensiya, maaaring masibak sa puwesto si Zarate sa oras na siya ay mapatunayang guilty.
Samantala, binatikos ng ICI ang malawakang pagsira at pag-tamper ng mga dokumentong may kinalaman sa maanomalyang flood control projects ng DPWH.
