BALITA | Anti-corruption rallies sa bansa, 'generally peaceful' – PNP
Inilarawan ng Philippine National Police (PNP) bilang ‘generally peaceful’ ang naganap na anti-corruption rallies sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng bansa noong ika-21 ng Setyembre.

Sa isang pahayag ni Acting PNP Chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., pinuri niya ang law enforcement units sa pagtitiyak na ligtas ang mga nakilahok sa protesta.

“Our police units worked hard to keep everyone safe today. While there were some isolated incidents, including a trailer truck set on fire at the foot of the Ayala bridge by a few unruly protesters, most rallies went on peacefully because many participants cooperated with the authorities,” ani Lt. Gen Nartatez.

Sa huling tala ng PNP, tinatayang nasa 61,605 ang nagprotesta sa buong bansa, kung saan 33,720 rito ay mula sa Metro Manila habang 27,885 ay galing sa ibang rehiyon.

Nagpadala naman ng 50,000 pulis ang PNP sa buong bansa, kasama ang 29,300 na nasa Metro Manila, bilang bahagi ng Civil Disturbance Management (CDM) units.

“We thank the organizers and participants who cooperated and followed the rules,” saad ni PNP Spokesperson Police Brig. gen. Randulf Tuaño.

Bagama’t naging mapayapa ang karamihan ng protesta, nagtala pa rin ng ilang casualty at injuries ang PNP bunsod ng riot sa Mendiola kung saan 113 raliyista ang inaresto.
